Swords

Arming Swords, Broad Swords, Falchions, and Long swords was mostly used by foot soldiers or use it as secondary weapons (American International, "Medieval Weapons"). This weapon is little easy to carry on the belt and it is easy to use weapon in medieval warfare. These weapons are used by viking era it was easy to make (American International, "Medieval Weapons"). It was used for offensive push sword for vikings when they are having a raid.
Daggers & Knives

Anelaces, stillettos, poingnards, and Rondels these knives are used as 3rd weapon and could be very helpful to survival in some environment (American International, "Medieval Weapons"). The weapon is from 1250 to 15th century, it was very light and stab enemies fast and quick (American International, "Medieval Weapons"). These weapons were mostly used by archers when enemy gets too close for them in the battlefield.
Blunt weapons

Maces and clubs: a mace is a club that does lodes of damage from the end of the stick. It has alot of varieties like spike, metal and reinforced metal.
The tip or end of the club was made by stone, copper, bronze, iron or steel (American International, "Medieval Weapons"). The metal will be heavy, but do alot of damage. The wood is light and easy to carry, but cannot penetrate armors. The metal weapons can penetrate metal armor and can go through the chain armor if flange hard enough (American International, "Medieval Weapons"). These weapons showed up in 900 in Byzantine empire. It was not famous weapon until 12th century of Europe (American International, "Medieval Weapons").

The War hammer is a small metal hammer used by knights. It could crush helmets and sometimes used on the pole to penetrate armors. There is also blade and spiked war hammers on later versions (American International, "Medieval Weapons"). The spike could penetrate armors much easily and blade could make enemies bleed on impact.

Flail made in Medieval Victorian Era 1000-1200(more information on Who page) this weapon is Mace and chain (American International, "Medieval Weapons"). The top of the mace is removed and put it with the chain and swing at enemies.
Pole Arms

Pole arm is a close combat melee weapon from start of the medieval period, the weapon is long and there is a sharp, pointy or axe on tip of the wood. Spear, Lances, Halberd and pikes are all famous pole arms till 17th century (American International, "Medieval Weapons"). A spear is a simple pole weapon that has sharp metal tip. There is different varieties of spears like throwing, barbed and piercing. Throwing spear would be small and light to throw at enemies. The barbed would have little blades on the tip to bleed enemies. Piercings have sharp and long tip. Lances are similar as spears but has a handle to hold while riding a horse. This weapon is mainly to charge on enemies or bring down enemy horse rider. This weapon is very long with 3-4 meter long, this would classified with spear with the long pole to the metal tip on the end of the pole (American International, "Medieval Weapons"). The Halberd(You could see more about in who page) made in 1279 it is a two handed pole weapon that can stab, hook and chop enemies, there wasn't many weapons that has a lot of varieties in one particular weapon (American International, "Medieval Weapons"). Pikes is a very very long weapon that has size from 3 to 6 meters long (American International, "Medieval Weapons"). This weapon is similar to the spear, but the tip of the weapon is small. It could counter against cavalry assaults who were holding the pikes and the foot soldiers used it against when enemies are charging (American International, "Medieval Weapons"). This weapon is famous for "hedgehog" formation, by holding their pikes out in the directions of the enem1ies, sometimes they make a big circle and anyone who goes up to them can stab from long distance (American International, "Medieval Weapons").
Crossbows, Bows and Longbows
The Crossbows (more on who page), bows and long bow was a great weapon to dominate on the battle field of medieval time, with long ranges and high damage on heavy armored enemies (웅진, "중세의기사 "). The crossbow is made in early 1300's, functioned by trigger system, when the trigger is pulled it shoots a bolt to enemies ("SwiftHound Bows Medieval Crossbows").
The bows are old and widely used even before middle age. It is quick and it could shoot over 100 yards on normal bow and could pierce through leather armor. The Long bow (more on who page)is big and can shoot over 200 yards and pierce through knight's armor. |
Siege Engines

The siege engine was used since Byzantium Era (330-1453 A.D.)
(" Siege Engines: Medieval Mechanical Mayhem"). There is 3 mainly used siege engines in medieval time. Ballista that shoots very big bolt like spear to enemy or other siege engines. It is the smallest and most easy to use on the battle field (" Siege Engines: Medieval Mechanical Mayhem"). These siege engines were used to defend castle to other invaders. The Catapult is large and used for offensive side. It is mostly good for breaking the castle and to go inside the castle. The catapult has a throwing arm where you put a very large rock and trigger to throw the large rock to the certain area (" Siege Engines: Medieval Mechanical Mayhem"). The Trebuchet is the latest siege engine and the largest and deadly siege engine (" Siege Engines: Medieval Mechanical Mayhem"). It uses the force of gravity to throw a large rocks like catapult. One side has the weight and the other has the sling and there is a projectile on the sling (" Siege Engines: Medieval Mechanical Mayhem").
The one that has alot of weight will go down quickly and throws the sling very far away and hit the castle.
